Georgia Mountain Food Bank's (GMFB's) mission is to address hunger, health and quality of life by serving those in need. An affiliate of Atlanta Community Food Bank, we provide a vital link between sources of food supplies and hardworking community-based partner agencies who help get the food into the hands of families and individuals in need.
How We Help
Through community partnerships, GMFB helps to increase food supplies in rural parts of North Georgia, effectively connecting more food to people in need. The food we distribute comes through our partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank along with goods donated locally from retailers, manufacturers, distributors and food drives.
Who We Serve
Volunteers and advocates help us complete our mission of bringing nutritious food to those in need. They are the backbone of the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Whether giving time or financial resources, the friends of GMFB help us reach people in need and are critical to our success. To learn more click here.
GMFB currently partners with more than 58 agencies
throughout our five county service area of Dawson, Forsyth, Hall, Lumpkin and Union Counties. Typical partner agencies include:
Daycare centers for children, the elderly or disabled individuals
Not-for-profit community agencies
Volunteer staff, with limited resources, operate many of our partner agencies. By shipping food locally and providing delivery services, training classes and a connection to resources and technical assistance, GMFB helps these groups accomplish their mission by operating more effectively and efficiently.
