OUTREACH PROGRAMS:

Our Munch Bunch program is continuing at the Boys and Girls Club of Hall County.

The youth program is a partnership between the Georgia Mountain Food Bank and the University of Georgia - Hall County Cooperative Extension Food Talk program.

Munch Bunch provides children with fun nutrition education plus free recipes and brochures for their families. They also receive colorful activity sheets that stress the importance of wise food choices and daily exercise.

Nutrition education is weaved into lessons through games and a variety of activities. Children are encouraged to eat a variety of foods and stay active.

Sessions include a lesson plus an activity. Youngsters have the opportunity to sample quick recipes such as Creamy Pineapple Pudding, Pyramid Sundae and Peach Crumble.

Hall County Extension's Food Talk program is part of the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP).

Food Talk, which is federally funded, is available in 25 Georgia counties and it is available to schools, places of worship and community agencies and organizations.

Feeding Our Future (FOF)

Feeding Our Future is a joint project with the Junior League of Hall County. The Junior League has worked with 2 area schools to identify at risk children and distributes a food box monthly to these children and their families. At this time there are 50 families being served with the plan to expand to 150 families next school year.
