Georgia Mountain Food Bank partners with local and national companies to provide essential services to those in need. From food rescue programs, to mobile pantry distributions, donations of equipment, corporate sponsorships, gifts and food drives, our relationships with local businesses are vital to the ability of GMFB to sustain its misson of providing food to the hungry in our community.
Your company can help us in a variety of ways including:
Conduct Food Drives
Food drives are one of our most effective tools for raising awareness and donations. It's also one of the easiest. By placing containers around the office, it's simple for your employees to donate canned goods. Many employers even choose to offer a company match as an incentive to their drive!
Donate through our Food Rescue Program
We partner with local and national food suppliers, retailers, distributors and companies to rescue food that is "unsalable" to redistribute throughout our food bank network.
GMFB operates as a food distribution warehouse, so donations of equipment or other business related resources are welcome and deeply appreciated.
GMFB has various ways to recognize a corporate sponsor, whether it be through sponsoring a room, event or programs such as our Mobile Food Pantry or Summer Lunch Bag feeding program for kids. Sponsoring GMFB is a great way to promote your company as one that cares about its community. Monetary donations are always appreciated but feel free to get creative by providing goodie bags for event attendees, auctioning off goods and services or providing a venue in which to hold an event. There are many ways that your company can help through sponsorship.
Monthly Payroll Deductions
This is a great way to get employees involved. By allowing bi-weekly deductions from paychecks, everyone benefits — the employee by making tax-deductible and pre-tax gifts and GMFB by receiving much needed funds.
Your company can set up specific days of the year which are designated as 'volunteer days' for GMFB. Get everyone involved in helping stock shelves, count inventory and organize the facility.
By placing an advertisement on your company's website you can help draw other potential donors to GMFB's site. Without the continued support of companies and local businesses, GMFB's leverage to provide food to our communities would greatly diminish. With your continued support we are able to effectively fight hunger in the Northeast Georgia area.
Without the continued support of companies, the Georgia Mountain Food Bank would not be as effective as it is. For more information on how you can give to GMFB, or request a list of "most wanted" items for our warehouse or food drives, call 770-534-4111. GMFB is a 501(c) (3) organization so your gift is tax deductible as permitted by law.
