 Warrior Dash 2011 On Sunday, May 15th, 15 Georgia Mountain Food Bank volunteers came together in Mountain City to volunteer at Warrior Dash. The weather was perfect and was a day filled with fun and interesting people.
|  Keller Williams Red Day On Thursday, May 12, Donna Smith with Keller Williams Atlanta Partners, headed a food drive in 2 subdivisions and collected over 2300 pounds! Way to go!

 Celebration Church Food Drive A big thank you to Kathy Papa who organized a food drive with Celebration Church and also collected food at a local Kroger. They were able to collect over 800 pounds of food.
|  Country Charm Egg Distributors Donates 54,000 Eggs On April 12, 2011, Country Charm Egg Distributors as part of a national Feeding America egg donation, donated 54,000 eggs that were distributed to our partner agencies who are working on the frontlines to help those in need.

 Christopher and Zachary Giannini inspires us all.... Christopher and Zachary Giannini were inspired to help others and decided to collect food in their kindergarten classes at Birmingham Falls Elementary. They collected over 600 pounds! Great job!
|  Hunger Walk 2011 Hunger Walk/Run is a program of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and for 26 years, this amazing event brings thousands to Turner Field to raise funds in response to hunger locally and globally. The Georgia Mountain Food Bank participated this year by organizing a team of walkers who raised $1,000! (a portion of the proceeds will come to GMFB). It was a great day and the weather was perfect!

 Regions Food Drive for Feeding Our Future Regions Bank had a week of "Sharing the Good." For this project they collected food for the week which amounted to an amazing 744 pounds and brought it to our Feeding Our Future site and inspected, sorted and stocked the shelves. A Big THANK YOU goes out to REGIONS and Kelli Nix who organized the project.

 Groundbreaking ceremony August 15, 2011 for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank Boomershine Family Logistic Center! Over 100 gathering to celebrate the beginning of the construction new food distribution facility!
|  Blairsville Distribution, December 2010 In early December, over 50 volunteers came together to make food boxes for 600 families and distribute them.

 PFG Milton's brings GMFB 13,942 pounds of food in November 2010!!! PFG Milton's collected food drive food and asked other vendors to donate product to the GMFB. There contribution was incredible and so much appreciated!
|  Holiday Food Drives 2010 Local companies, girl scout troops, schools and individuals were amazing in their efforts to collect food to help ensure that families had food for the holidays.

 GMFB at the Falcons & Publix food drive representing the Atlanta Community Food Bank The Atlanta Falcons and Publix joined efforts to collect food for the Atlanta Community Food Bank throughout the month.
|  Feeding Our Future 2010 Feeding Our Future, a joint program with the Junior League of Hall County, will supply monthly food boxes to families in both Gainesville City and Hall County schools.

 Blairsville TEFAP Distribution on 10/02/2010 On October 2, 2010 over 35 volunteers boxed and distributed over 54,000 pounds of food to 500 households/1414 individuals in Blairsville.
|  Empty Bowl 2010 Our 4th Annual Empty Bowl lunch took place at the First Baptist Church in Gainesville, during September, which is Hunger Action Month. Thank you to everyone who contributed to and supported this event.

 National Night Out The Georgia Mountain Food Bank participated in the National Night Out event held at the Memorial Park Riverside Chapel.
|  Summer Lunches for the Boys & Girls Club of Hall County During the month of July, the GMFB along with dedicated volunteers provided 4,050 lunches to the Boys & Girls Club of Hall County!!!
We had a total of 190 volunteer hours and $3526.96 in donated food for this project! A big thank you to all that were involved. You have made a huge difference in our community.

 Blueberry Picking 2010 Almost 50 volunteers picked over 200 pints of fresh organically grown blueberries over 4 different evenings at the Nix farm in Lula! The volunteers worked efficiently and quickly to pick buckets & buckets of berries! Special thanks to everyone who participated!!!
We delivered the berries to the Boys and Girls Club of Gainesville, Greater A Manager Community Outreach Center Summer Reading Camp, John Paul II Training Center, Gateway House, and St. John’s Baptist Soup & Sandwich Ministry.
Mr. Nix made the experience fun and easy and he & his wife “looked” and packed the berries for us! We can’t thank Mr. & Mrs. Nix enough for this great gift to the food bank and local feeding agencies.

 TEFAP Distribution, May 1, 2010 On April 30 and May 1, 2010 over 90 volunteers participated in boxing and distributing food boxes to over 600 families in need.
|  Gainesville Fire Department Gives GMFB a Big Hand... The Gainesville Fire Department helped to disassemble metal shelving that was given to GMFB,loaded it on their trucks and transported them to our facility in Flowery Branch. We appreciate their time in helping us in a big way!

 Keep Hall Beautiful's Chicken Cook Off 2010 The Georgia Mountain Food Bank along with the generous support and talent of Hollis Transport cooked up some amazing chicken pot pies!
|  Gainesville State College Food Drive Professor George Dans' psychology class collected over 580 pounds of food for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank.

 Agency Pick up at Hollis Transport Twice a month the Atlanta Community Food Bank delivers orders to us at Hollis Transport for local agencies to pick up. We luckily have volunteers who help us to sort and count the orders and keep things running smoothly!
|  North Hall High School Student Council Food Drive The Student Council of North Hall High School collected over 1,500 pounds of food during the month of December which was redistributed to local agencies.

|  Local Food Drives Many local businesses, corporations, groups and individuals have hosted food drives for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. In 2009 alone, almost 15,000 lbs. of food has been collected.
