Wal-Mart plans a $2B initiative for hunger reliefOn Wednesday, May 12, Walmart named Feeding America as one of the recipient organizations of a landmark $2 billion commitment over five years to fight domestic hunger through the “Fighting Hunger Together” initiative. This commitment from Walmart will include $250 million in cash grants to Feeding America and other hunger-relief organizations, in addition to the value of food donated to Feeding America food banks across the nation. Feeding America will receive the first cash grant in the amount of $6 million, which will fund manufacturing of 60 new refrigerated trucks for Feeding America food banks |
