Food Distribution

Connecting more food to people in need

Since 2008, we have partnered with local agencies, corporations and retail vendors to provide over 72 million pounds of food to those in our community.

Here's How It Works

Food Donations

Donated product arrives at GMFB’s facility from food drives, grocery and food distributors, growers and other sources of wholesome surplus food. Our relationship with distributors and manufacturers accounts for 51 percent of the overall food donations at the Food Bank and approximately 90,000 pounds of food items each month.

Feeding Partners

Food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs, daycare centers for children, and nonprofits obtain food from the Food Bank to deliver to people in need.

Direct Programs

Engaging with our community through outreach programs and education allows us to reach more people in need.

Families in Need

GMFB serves approximately 55,000 food insecure people throughout our five county service area each month. (The USDA defines food insecure as a socioeconomic condition of limited or uncertain access to enough food to support a healthy life.)
