Georgia Mountain Food Bank’s Youth Summit is a free, four-day service opportunity for area high school students designed to educate participants on the epidemic of poverty and food insecurity in the United States.
Students will participate in interactive workshops about the hunger issues facing our community as well as be engaged first-hand in the role that food banks and feeding partners play in the fight against food insecurity. They will gain more than 20+ service hours throughout the week through hands-on service projects with GMFB and other hunger fighting organizations in North Georgia.
The Summit is limited to 20 students who all agree to complete at least one “Hunger Fighting Action Step” during the following school year. Completed applications are due by Friday, March 30. We will notify applicants of their acceptance status by Friday, April 13.
