"I started volunteering with Georgia Mountain Food Bank because I wanted to make a difference in the community. I can’t imagine not being able to feed my child or having to tell my little one that there is no food to eat. I wanted to be able to do something to help people in this situation. As a mom I hear my little one ask for snacks throughout the day and even at bed time sometimes! Every mom should have the opportunity to feed her children when they are hungry."
-Michelle Wiley, GMFB Volunteer
Volunteers play a critical role in the success of Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Volunteers help in many ways:
Sorting foods for storage and delivery
Coordinating and running a food drive
Helping with a fundraising event
Providing hands-on service to the hungry with one of our partner agencies or our programs
We can tailor a volunteer role to accomodate your specific needs and schedule. For more information about volunteering and GMFB call 770-534-4111, or complete the form below and we will add your name to the database to receive posts of volunteer opportunities.
Currently, we are especially seeking artists, schools, civic groups and food sponsors for our Empty Bowl fundraising event in September.
