Who We Are

Georgia Mountain Food Bank’s (GMFB’s) mission is to address hunger, health and quality of life by serving those in need. An affiliate of Atlanta Community Food Bank, we provide a vital link between sources of food supplies and hardworking community-based partner agencies who help get the food into the hands of families and individuals in need.

Since 2008, GMFB has distributed over 72 million pounds of food right here in our own community.

The only Food Bank in our five-county service area, the food we distribute comes through our partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank along with goods donated locally from retailers, manufacturers, distributors and food drives.

Our volunteers and advocates are the backbone of our operation. Whether giving time or financial resources, the friends of GMFB help us reach people in need and are critical to our success.

Through community partnerships with nearly 65 agencies in north Georgia, GMFB helps to increase food supplies by effectively connecting more food to people in need in our five-county service area of Hall, Forsyth, Lumpkin, Union and Dawson Counties. Typical feeding partners include:
