2018 marks the 10th Anniversary of Empty Bowl and the second year that HOMESTAR has supported GMFB’s mission, donating $10,000 to be the event’s presenting sponsor. HOMESTAR’s desire to expand its support and involvement with the Food Bank resulted in the company’s President and CEO, Wes Hunt, joining the board of directors.

“HOMESTAR is honored to support GMFB for the second year in a row as Empty Bowl’s presenting sponsor, and I am personally honored to serve on the board and help to fulfill this basic human need,” Hunt said. “HOMESTAR would not be where it is today without the support of our local community. Therefore, it is important for us to be active and present within an organization that makes a huge difference in Hall County and the surrounding areas.”

With ongoing support from corporate partners like HOMESTAR, the Food Bank is able to continue its mission to fight hunger in North Georgia. GMFB is thankful for HOMESTAR and their desire to build thriving communities for families. Together, we can support the whole individual by serving those in need as it relates to health and the quality of life.

“We are thrilled that GMFB is celebrating the event’s 10th anniversary and are honored to congratulate them on this amazing level of success,” Hunt continued. “Through this event, they have been able to provide hundreds of thousands of meals over the years to eliminate empty bowls and empty stomachs in our community, and we are proud to join them in this mission.”
