GMFB Teams Up with the Atlanta Falcons
Two Hall County companies combined to contribute to a 17-year consecutive streak that gives back to others. Georgia Mountain Food Bank, which collects surplus food and non-perishables for nonprofit partner agencies, and the Atlanta Falcons, which has held a training camp facility in Flowery Branch for decades.

Falcons players packed hurricane aid kits and food bank boxes with supplies for people directly affected by and recovering from Hurricane Helene, which touched ground in Southeast and Southwest Georgia in late September. The supplies were contributed by Georgia Mountain Food Bank as part of the 2024 Hometown Huddle, which is presented by Cigna.
Georgia Mountain Food Bank, a Feeding America affiliate, delivered pallets of supplies to the Falcons’ training facility on Falcon Parkway, where players and volunteers, some of whom were from Cigna Healthcare, packed the boxes. More than 1,000 boxes were prepared for shipping, according to a release from Georgia Mountain Food Bank.
“We were truly honored to be contacted by the Atlanta Falcons to participate in their annual Hometown Huddle event,” wrote Georgia Mountain Food Bank Executive Director in a statement. “Typically, they send players out across the city for various service projects, but this year, in response to the widespread devastation caused by recent hurricanes, they united the entire team to focus on disaster relief efforts.”
